A Note From The ACC
While construction was relatively slow this past year, this spring will bring some new activity to our subdivision. Residents should be aware of the possibility of encountering additional heavy vehicle traffic particularly on the major access roads within SPCE. In addition, and although we may have a natural curiosity to see what is being built, all are reminded that construction sites can be dangerous and that each site is personal property. Entry onto these properties should not be made without the explicit permission of the owner(s). Thank you for these considerations. |
FIRE Preparedness
|
Fire Chief Joe Gober warns that the dry, windy fire season is upon us. Be aware of Red Flag protocols. Make sure both your home and cell phone numbers are registered with Sandoval County Code Red to receive notification in the event of an emergency.
You should always have a "fire kit" of your most precious belongings and important papers packed and ready to go, as well as providing for pets. Consider scanning important documents and storing them in your computer and in the cloud. Defensible Space In the event of a wildfire, having defensible space around your home will reduce the risk of losing it. Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District offers a valuable program by which you can have your home evaluated and, should you decide to do so, have dense trees thinned out around your home. Ciudad SWCD pays 50% of the cost. Many residents of SPCE and Paako have taken advantage of this excellent program. Contact Sue Hansen, 761-5446 Ciudad SWCD, 6200 Jefferson NE Rm 125, Albuquerque, NM 87109. |
| Make YOUR Voice Count Don't just stay unhappy about services received from Sandoval County—call your representatives. Orlando Lucero, County Commissioner, (505) 867-7538 only acts when enough people contact him. Tom Garcia, County Assessor, may be reached at (505) 867-756 Jim Smith, our State Representative, may be contacted at jim@jimsmithnm.com or 934-1075. At election time, be aware of all bond issues—they can cost you money. Check the League of Women Voters for Sandoval County and New Mexico bond issues and candidate information. |
| Back Gate: Please email if you have any problems using your clickers to get through the gate. If you don't have a gate clicker and want to purchase one, contact Kimberly Sequist at 505-888-4479.
